How do I manage users for my district or campus?

User Management - One campus using My.Triand.com

Determine who the 'Triand Campus Administrator' is. This person will be the account owner for the campus.

The Triand Campus Administrator should do the following:

  • Make Friends (Administrators and Teachers at the campus): Help Page
  • Set Access levels for Friends: Help Page

User Management - A district using My.Triand.com and delegating user management to the campuses.

Determine who the 'Triand District Administrator' is. This person should be the account owner for the Central Office.

Determine who the 'Triand District Administrator' is. This person should be the account owner for the Central Office.

The Triand District Administrator should do the following:

  • Make Friends (with Administrators and Teachers in your district): Help Page
  • Set Access levels for Friends: Help Page

The Triand District Administrator should do the following:

  • Make Friends (with District Administrators and one 'Triand Campus Administrator' per campus): Help Page
  • Set Access levels for Friends: Help Page
  • Have the 'Triand Campus Administrators' follow the instructions in the section: User Management - One campus using My.Triand.com

Tips & Tricks

  • Set access levels for 100s of new users at once.
  • Adjust access levels for 100s of current users at once
  • Check that all of your users have proper access
  • Check that only certain users have a type of access that you set
  • See users at my District or Campus who don’t have access yet.

Set access levels for 100s of new users at once.

  • Navigate to the My Friends area

  • Click the download button to download a .csv template file

  • Enter in data for users you'd like to add as friends (first name, last name, email address, etc.)

  • Give your friends' mass access by changing the Columns K through N for all your friends, this should reflect the level of access you want to give your friends. For example, green curriculum, blue tests, green reports, green records, etc.

  • Save your updated file as a .CSV file and rename it with a .FRD extension

  • Upload the .csv file to your My Friends page

  • You will receive an email letting you know the status of the upload and any issues with it

Adjust access levels for 100s of current users at once

  • Navigate to the My Friends area

  • Click the download button to download a .csv file of all your friends

  • Change your friends' access by changing the cells' text to read how you want the access to change (for example, change blue to green, change yes to no, etc.)

  • Mass copy cells for an easy way of changing 100s of people's permissions at once.

  • Save your updated file as a .CSV file and rename it with a .FRD extension

  • Upload the .csv file to your My Friends page

  • You will receive an email letting you know the status of the upload and any issues with it

Check that all of your users have proper access (e.g. I want to see the access levels for all of my teachers; I want to see the access levels for all of my principals, etc.)

  • Navigate to the My Friends area

  • Click the download button to download a .csv file of all your friends

  • To see all users who have a certain note (role) attached to their name - Filter on Column S to only show cells that contain the role you want to see (teacher, campus admin, district admin, etc.)

  • If your users do not have a note (role) attached to their name, type one in for them ( teacher, campus admin, district admin, etc.) and then re-upload your .frd file to have the note (role) appear on your MyFriends page for them. Many users use this as a place to designate a role - teacher, campus admin, district admin, etc. Mass copy cells for an easy way of adding note (role) designations to 100s of people at once.

Check that only certain users have a type of access that you set (e.g. I want to see all of my users who can edit tests; I want to see all of my users who can view reports, etc.)

  • Navigate to the My Friends area

  • Click the download button to download a .csv file of all your friends

  • To see all users who can edit tests - FIlter on Column L to only show cells that contain the word "blue or purple"

  • To see all users who can view your reports - Filter on Column M to only show cells that contain the word "green"

See users at my District or Campus who don’t have access yet.
