Moving Questions

Kerry Feb 18, 2014 10:38AM CST

I have found several answers on how to move test questions to help eliminate blank space. However, when I move a question, it immediately goes right back to where it was originally. Am I doing something wrong?

Kerry – To move a question, click on it and drag it and drop it on the question you want it to follow. So, if you want #1 to be in the #3 spot, click on #1 and drag it on top of #3. Now, what was #1 is now #3.

A couple of things to keep in mind, the size of the test question matters. You can adjust whether a question is “narrow” or “wide” by editing the question (click the pencil in the top right corner) and adjust the “size” drop-down menu. Any “wide” item that follows a “narrow” item will automatically move to a new page. So, try adjusting the size of items so they match those around them. This will save paper.

Give that a try and if you still have questions, send us an email at and I’ll take a look at your specific test and give you some more pointers. Thanks!

I was having a lot of trouble with this - the trick is to drop the question on ANOTHER question. They don't switch places, but the question that has been moved will appear directly below the question it was dropped on. You can't just place the question where you want it to be.
